KUNDALINI YOGA & SCIENCE OF HYDROTHERAPY (ISHNAAN / COLD THERAPY)

The benefits of cold therapy and cold immersion have been documented for thousands of years. The yogis and monks of the Himalayas discovered that the body can raise it’s temperature to beat the cold, but the body’s systems need to be kept in tune in order to do so.

Yogic practices use a technique known as Ishnaan to stimulate this process in the body, it’s the science of human hydrotherapy. Check out the video below where I share about my experiences with Ishnaan and my first time in an ice bath.

Just got back from a Kundalini retreat and was lucky enough to do a couple of wild, extremely cold swims. First time I struggled to get breathing under control and only managed 5 mins with my hands out of the water the whole time. Second time I knew what to expect and did a full 10 mins and got my hands in and really swam. Loved it, both times after getting out I ran around in the cold like a kid in my cossie. Felt amazing. Wish I had that at home for every day! 😁
